I LOVE POETRY. And I love writing songs. With a novel, or even a short story, the writer has room to drift and ramble. With poems and songs, though, there is no such luxury. Each stanza, each line, each word is crucial to the work.
I hadn’t thought of publishing my poetry on Roadturn, until an audience member at a poetry slam asked me to put “This Day” online so it could be shared. I’m starting with that, but I am hoping this gesture will motivate me to revisit my current work and brush off my pen to compose new perspectives.
I love poetry. I hope you do too.
